Yesterday I published the Schmierlaw Criminal Defense Lawyer quiz. I plan on posting some cases each month along with the fact patterns. This month I have posted four cases. Assume you are the Defense Lawyer and your job is to spot the issues and determine if you can prevail on any of them. Examine the evidence. For instance, was the evidence derived from an illegal search and seizure or did the police violate your client's Constitutional Rights in some other way? If the evidence against your client is airtight and overwhelming, is there anything you can do? Or, if your client is truly guilty or, under questioning admitted guilt to the police, how can you mitigate the affect a conviction will have on their future?
